You will always receive a confirmation email from the platform you’re using (FundRazr, CoCoPay, Crowdfundr, etc.) when you make a contribution. Whether you receive a tax receipt will depend on the campaign owner’s status.
ConnectionPoint allows registered non-profit organizations to give out tax receipts directly from the platform if they can legally do so. They can choose when this goes out: either immediately (and by ‘immediately’ we mean approximately one hour after your contribution) or at the end of the calendar year, which will contain your contributions for the whole year (likely to happen if the organization has a campaign offering recurring contributions).
*Note for CoCoPay supporters contributing to a campaign in the United States: Some contributions via the CoCoPay platform to a campaign in the United States are received through the CoCoPay Giving Fund and are tax-deductible, so you will receive a tax receipt for your contribution.
