Why would adding Google Analytics to your ConnectionPoint campaign be useful? #
With Google Analytics, you can track information about visitors to your campaign and use that information to alter your marketing plans to increase conversion (i.e. more contributions!).
Features to track include:
- See where visitors click your campaign link from, be it a referral from another site, search engine, or direct input. If one source isn’t working well, you know not to continue putting resources toward marketing there.
- Conversion behaviour
- What did it take for a visitor to take action on your campaign? Did they contribute immediately, or did they bookmark and return? How helpful this data is depends on what sort of campaign you’re running. For example, if a cause-based campaign, perhaps you need to revisit your story with more detail to connect with the reader more quickly.
- Bounce rate
- See how many visitors leave your campaign without taking any action and how quickly. Time on the campaign can help determine what parts you need to spend time working on.
- Details what demographics your visitors allow to share: age range, general location, etc. (but no personal information). Helpful for creating your crowd profiles!
