“Please share my campaign!” is one of the most common requests we receive. But sharing – and therefore your campaign’s success – is YOUR responsibility.
ConnectionPoint occasionally highlights campaigns on our social media pages for specific platforms. Also, our homepages include a ‘Find’ function, so curious visitors can explore running campaigns at their leisure. However, neither of these is meant to be a significant source of contributions for your campaign.
Our platforms are designed around crowdfunding: collaborative funding for individuals and organizations to call on their communities to contribute and help support campaigns.
But those other platforms will share my campaign with huge audiences. #
Indeed they will! However, a common misconception is all you have to do is create a campaign and then it will automatically be shared with a gigantic audience waiting with money in hand for projects to fund. An “if you build it, they will come” scenario. As much as we wish this was true, it’s not.
To be successful on these platforms, you still must do the same work needed on ConnectionPoint’s platforms: create a well-thought-out campaign with a story, pictures, and video, share it with your communities, promote it to new audiences, engage with your supporters, and update. Only then* will those platforms’ algorithms trigger your campaign into high-value spots that bring your campaign in front of a larger audience.
*There are some platforms that have paid marketing plans, which will also put your campaign in front of their audiences.
There is LOTS of help available, though! #
We still want to help you succeed! Our pricing models are based on your success, and generosity is a principal value in our company. Please peruse our blogs, Hubs, help documents such as this one, our consultants, and other resources for professional guidance toward your goals.
