Embed live-streaming YouTube videos in your ConnectionPoint campaign to showcase events and creations, or just provide an opportunity for your potential supporters to see who you are!
What is an embedded live stream? #
When you live stream on YouTube, embedding this stream onto your campaign means visitors to that campaign do not have to view your live stream on a separate page. The video will appear directly in your Media Gallery or campaign story (depending on which you prefer), allowing supporters to contribute as they’re watching or listening!
PLUS – you can also create an overlay for live contributions. With this feature, every time someone contributes to your cause, a small pop-up appears, showcasing the enthusiasm of other supporters. Imagine the impact this could have on potential contributors as they witness the excitement and momentum of your campaign!
Why would embedding a live stream in your ConnectionPoint campaign be useful? #
Three reasons:
- Social proof
- Social proof is the idea that humans are more likely to do something if they see others doing it first. This is where the live-contribution overlay comes in handy!

- Trust and transparency
- Live streaming shows potential supporters who you are, which brings a sense of trust. And crowdfunding requires strong trust in a campaign owner.

- Remove barriers to contributing
- Live streaming puts the Contribution button and rewards list directly by the video feed. Anything between the moment someone wants to contribute – even just a couple clicks to another website – creates a ‘barrier’ that could result in that person not contributing. It could be they change their mind quickly, or a technical issue prevents them from contributing at that moment, and they simply forget to return.
