I am the Director of MOONACRE SANCTUARY, a registered not for profit organisation in Larnaka, Cyprus. MOONACRE came into being in 2013 although my work with stray animals in Cyprus began when I emigrated to the island in 2007. My specialist interest is Orthopaedics and Neurology, so the cases we take at MOONACRE reflect this. Hundreds of dogs who would ordinarily have been paralysed or severely disabled have received life changing surgery, prosthetic limbs, or mobility solutions like wheels. Horses with major physiological issues have received rehabilitation and corrective therapy to bring them back to physical wellness. We have pioneered many procedures in Cyprus such as total hip replacement surgery, major orthopaedic corrections, therapy for coma patients, stroke patients, degenerative disease sufferers and so on. There seems no end to what can be achieved when the goal is to bring hope to the hopeless.
