I am a father, a sales consultant for a food distributor, and someone who has a lot of compassion for others. I have had my fair share of life's challenges but I am very grateful for the life I have. That can't be said for many others. Some things are just out of our control, like a pandemic. A pandemic that has brought so many challenges for so many people. The struggle was already difficult for the Food and Beverage industry prior to and it continues to challenge the industry. I work with many individuals within the food and beverage industry but I am always humbled by the hard working individuals who make up the back bone of this industry. I'm talking about the dish piggies, the line cooks, the grumpy servers who have been working on the same line or dish pit for 15 to 30 years just getting by. Most notable my father, who raised a family of 5 as a bartender and who still bartends to this day. He and my mother gave our family an opportunity to live a comfortable life here in Canada.
I have dealt with mental health issues first hand and in other ways. I am an advocate for men's work and creating spaces where men can me vulnerable and share truth to do their inner healing. I am part of a local Vancouver Men's group called Arka and have witnessed many transformational moments for men. The world could be a much better place with a few more healed men.
I love boxing, I love movement, I love supporting community, and I have deep respect for the the F&B industry.
I turn 40 this year and want to challenge myself to a fight in the ring. There is no better way to do this than to support the industry that raised me and also to support some folks who have not been so privileged.
I am requesting your help to allow me this opportunity to FIGHT, so if you have the means, it would mean a lot to me =)
