The Walk in Our Shoes Foot Care Clinic matters to me
because it addresses important health needs of one of our most
underserviced and vulnerable populations - the homeless. A
professor once asked my class to imagine how difficult it
would be to keep track of and get to medical appointments if
you did not have a home, a calendar, a fridge to put reminders
on, or access to transportation. The Walk in Our Shoes Foot
Care Clinic has typically operated out of St. Andrew's church
in Halifax and co-occurs with the church's hot meal night,
making it a convenient time for homeless people in the area to
get some basic medical care. In anticipation of the re-opening
of this clinic, we are hoping to raise some funds to help
cover costs of operation and any additional costs related to
re-opening. Any and all support would be much appreciated!
