Hello… I’m Mafer, an artist born in Mexico City that moved to the forest 14 years ago, to start a more natural way of living and to learn from Nature. My husband Carlos met in Art school, and we knew that coming to live to the mountains was our dream. We started our family and home here, bought a land where we are building our house and developing our projects as a family. As parents of 4 wild kids raised in the beautiful forests of Oaxaca, we thrive to create art education opportunities for our and everyone’s kids and youth. All the villages around, the zapotec sierra communities, have never had access to art and science education, so to create a cultural center in our ranch is one of our dreams. I own a small business, Relato Nativo, a medicinal plant project that evolved into self care natural products, aromatherapy and native incense production.
