Hi, my name is Enoch Astaphan, and I am thrilled to be part of the upcoming mission trip to Jinja, Uganda, with our team from Sanctus Church. Born and raised on the tiny Caribbean island of Dominica, I grew up surrounded by nature, lush greenery, sunlight, salt and freshwater, which fostered a deep appreciation for God’s creation. As a youth, I actively participated in environmental conservation efforts, a passion that continues to shape my interests today in sustainable agriculture, aquaponics, and renewable energy, in particular solar power. After over a decade studying and working in IT in New York City, my return to Dominica in 2017 following Hurricane Maria profoundly impacted me. I witnessed firsthand the power of resilience and faith in overcoming challenges.

I relocated to Canada in 2018 and embarked on a transformative faith journey. Becoming a father to my three-year-old son deepened my understanding of the importance of family and inspired me to live with greater purpose, seeking to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. In 2022, I was baptized at Sanctus Church, where I’ve been actively serving in Hospitality and Production ministries.

This mission trip resonates deeply with my desire to support children in being reunited with their families and to reflect the love of Christ through action. I am passionate about meeting people where they are, contributing to their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and stewarding the resources God has given us for His glory.

I am excited to serve with Jinja Connection and hope this experience will not only transform the lives of those we meet but also further strengthen my faith and commitment to God’s work. Thank you for your prayers and support as I embark on this meaningful journey of faith and purpose!
