Colleagues,  please contribute to my fundraiser and support my challenge on behalf of Connecticut Citizens Action Group's 2023 Cycle4CT Challenge to fight climate change.  I am a retired academic historian and an avid bicyclist fully backing CCAG's fight for climate friendly initiatives.  To demonstrate my commitment to this cause, I propose--sometime close to the designated weekend October 14-15 (weather permitting)--to commune with nature and test myself physically by bicycling the off-road rails-to-trails route from Vernon Depot along the Hop River Trail through Willimantic where Hop River connects up with the Airline Trail South, and then ride south on the Airline as far as Colchester and back.  That's about sixty miles total of off-road, rails-to-trails bicycling through Connecticut meadows and forests, a great close-up look at the Connecticut landscape that we want to protect.   Please help me to support CCAG and all that it does to fight damaging effects on our climate.
