I’m doing something that honestly scares me.

Recovery Beyond is hosting a fundraiser where participants can earn the opportunity to rappel down a Seattle skyscraper by raising at least $1,000. And I’ve decided I’m going for it.

For those who don’t know, Recovery Beyond holds a special place in my heart. It’s an organization dedicated to helping people find healing, connection, and purpose through recovery, community, and outdoor adventure. I’ve seen firsthand the impact they have on people’s lives, and I’m proud to support their mission.

But this challenge is about more than fundraising for me.

As a mom, I want my kids to see that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s choosing to move forward despite it. I want them to know that hard things are worth doing, that growth happens outside our comfort zones, and that fear doesn’t get to make our decisions.

So yes, the thought of stepping over the edge of a building is terrifying. But that’s exactly why I want to do it.
