Hi everyone thank you for popping in!! I'd like to tell you a bit about us. I'm Rachel and I'm 53,yrs old, my hubby Kevin is 49yrs old and we've been married 28yrs and together for 30yrs. My Lord that's a LONG time when I think about it 😳 🤣 We have a son, Keith he's 27yrs old, and a daughter Taylor she's 20yrs old. They are the most amazing kids ever! Keith has a daughter, Evelyn she's almost 3yrd old and the ABSOLUTE LOVE OF OUR LIFE ❤️
4 years ago Kevin came home from work and said "We're moving back to Arkansas!!" He always said when his Momma ipasses away we're going back to Arkansas, and we did just that He got lucky and found a GREAT job. He had started training in Little Rock for 10 days and me and Taylor we're in Mississippi packing everything we owned. At 9pm we loaded up a 25ft u-haul, loaded 3 dogs and 1 cat in my Nissan rogue with no AC ( my AC went out the week before) in 89 degree (felt like 95) weather driving 4 hours into the Ozark mountains. Yes we were MISERABLE!!! Thank God the temp went down the further we got to Russellville Arkansas. We've been here ever since.
Kevin has ALWAYS been an amazing provider for our family. Always had a job, we never went without. He is the most hardworking manI know. He delivers petroleum across five states, routinely pulling grueling 12-to-18-hour days, six days a week. He never misses work, even while battling his own rising health issues, including an enlarged heart and severe arthritis pain.
Despite his incredible work ethic, the cost of living, steep rent, and a crushing $1,100 monthly health insurance premium mean we are stuck in a cycle of just getting by. Between brutal work hours and chronic illness, our world has shrunk.
The last 20 years, my body has been a battleground. It started with a heart attack while nine months pregnant, followed by full-blown heart failure. Two weeks after my daughter was born, I fell into severe postpartum depression so dark that it drove me to try to take my own life. I survived that darkness, only to be diagnosed with severe chronic Crohn’s disease in 2013. For two years, I lay on my deathbed, fighting a broken insurance system just to get a doctor to take my case. A year and a half ago, a surgeon finally removed four and a half feet of my fused intestines. He told me he couldn’t believe I was still alive.
Today, while still recovering from that trauma and navigating the heavy physical exhaustion of menopause, I am proud to be standing here. But the financial and emotional toll on our family has been heavy. We're now working on our mental health and getting ourselves together.
Thank you guys for stopping by, I hope you will consider donating even if it's $1. I pray we reach our goal and FINALLY get to take that dream vacation.
