PayPal Error Code 579048 means the account has exceeded its sending limit. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you try to contribute to a campaign and receive this error message? This error message refers to the campaign owner’s PayPal account, not yours. Please contact the campaign owner and let them know! You may also let us know<\/a>, and we can contact the owner. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s going on?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This message means that your PayPal account needs to be verified before you can continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case you\u2019re curious as to WHY:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unverified PayPal accounts have sending limits: They can only send a certain amount of money every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I\u2019m using your system to ACCEPT money, not send it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since our system uses a PayPal feature called \u201cAdaptive Payments: Chained Payments,\u201d where our fee is removed from your PayPal account in a separate transaction at the same time your contribution is received into your PayPal account, even though you\u2019re planning to use us to accept money, you also need to be able to send money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To verify your PayPal account, simply follow these steps:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. On the account overview page, near your name, click Get Verified. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Select the verification method you want to use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Enter your information, then click Continue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Click Confirm, then click Submit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Important:<\/strong> PayPal Verification usually takes 2-3 business days in the United States and 4-6 business days outside the United States. Unfortunately, the message won\u2019t disappear from your campaign until that process is finished, and you can\u2019t start accepting contributions until it does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
