Unfortunately, there may always be those who take advantage of such generosity, and we must be very careful about monitoring the campaigns run on our platforms to limit fraudulent campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Because we need all campaigns to comply with fundraising laws, regulations, and requirements, users must fall into one of three categories to use our system for charity-driven fundraising<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Category 1: I\u2019m an Authorized Officer of the organization<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An Authorized Officer is a member of a business entity that entity has formally empowered to conduct business on its behalf, make financial decisions on its behalf, and enter into borrowing arrangements with financial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generally, the role of Authorized Officer is limited to these types of positions within the Organization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Owner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>President\/Chairperson<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Treasurer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vice President<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Board Member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To use our system as an Organization, an Authorized Officer MUST have the authority to make financial decisions for the Organization. If you don\u2019t know whether or not you\u2019re an Authorized Officer, then you\u2019re probably not one, so you are in Category 2 below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you ARE an Authorized Officer:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personal campaigns are for personal use only, so your campaign MUST be created as an Organization campaign. If your organization is a non-profit, you must provide us with your Organization\u2019s government-issued tax number when you create the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Organization must be registered, and you must be able to provide us with documentation proving this if we ask for it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Have you been directed here by our Support Team?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Look at the byline on your campaign page \u2013 it needs to say Organization campaign.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If it says anything else, please reply to our Support Team and let us know you created the wrong type of campaign. We\u2019ll help you make sure you have the right kind of campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Category 2: I\u2019m a volunteer\/supporter of the organization<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It means that you don\u2019t have the authority to make financial decisions for the Organization, but you support its cause and raise money on behalf of the Organization as a volunteer fundraiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is raising this money part of your Official Role with the Organization? If not, then you\u2019re probably not an Authorized Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you\u2019re NOT an Authorized Officer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your campaign must be set up as a Personal campaign, AND<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must provide us with a Letter of Subordination authorizing you to raise funds on behalf of the Organization through our system, AND<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must accept contributions via the same payment email address as the Organization listed on the Letter of Subordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Have you been directed here by our Support Team?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fundrazr.com\/pages\/letter-of-subordination\"><strong>Click here to view &amp; download the Letter of Subordination template<\/strong><\/a>. Then, contact the non-profit organization, give them the link to that page, and ask them to use the template to create a letter for you. Please email it to compliance@fundrazr.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>** You\u2019ll also need to ensure your campaign\u2019s Story names the Non-Profit Organization. If your campaign\u2019s Story already names them, we only need the Letter of Subordination. **<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If we haven\u2019t reached out to you, but you have already launched your campaign and haven\u2019t sent us the documentation yet, don\u2019t panic. Just get it to us as soon as you can, and keep raising money in the meantime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Category 3: I\u2019m raising money for an individual, not an organization<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It means you\u2019re raising money for an individual who will be the beneficiary of the fundraising campaign. An example of this would be, \u201cI\u2019m raising money to help pay my cousin\u2019s medical bills. All money raised will be given to my cousin\u201d, or \u201cI\u2019m raising money to help pay for a rescued dog\u2019s veterinary bills. All money raised will be used to pay those bills\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you\u2019re raising funds for another individual:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon request, you MUST provide us with information and\/or documentation showing that you are authorized or have been granted authorization to raise funds for the individual, as well as information and\/or documentation that clearly shows how the funds collected will be transferred to or used to benefit the individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your campaign must also list the individual\u2019s name and advise that you are raising funds on behalf of this individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*An individual can be a person (or group of people) or an animal (or group of animals).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Have you been directed here by our Support Team?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read the Story section of your campaign. Does it name the person or group of people you\u2019re raising money for? If it doesn\u2019t, just add their name(s) to the campaign\u2019s Story section, reply to our Support Team, and include documentation that clearly shows you\u2019re authorized to raise money for this person or group of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDocumentation\u201d can be something as simple as a string of emails between you and them discussing the campaign, as long as the emails clearly identify the person or group of people and clearly show the person or group of people authorizing you to raise funds on their behalf.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suppose the \u201cindividual\u201d is an animal or pet. In that case, you\u2019ll need to provide us with a veterinary bill or other official documentation that lists the animal\u2019s name and lists you as the animal\u2019s owner. Remember that the animal owner\u2019s name and the name listed as the campaign owner must match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please DO NOT simply copy &amp; paste the conversation into your reply. We need to see the original conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the conversation happened via email, forward the email to support@connectionpoint.com and reference the Support Ticket number from our message.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the conversation happened via another method (Facebook Private Message, WhatsApp, etc.), you will need to send us a screenshot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you can\u2019t do either of those things, then the person or group of people you are raising money on behalf of will need to contact us directly at support@connectionpoint.com and reference the Support Ticket number from our message.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that your campaign meets the requirements for the appropriate category above that describes your situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important: <\/strong>If we receive a report that a campaign does not meet these requirements, it may be suspended without notice, and we may require documentation to prove its legitimacy before we allow it to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we have reasonable grounds to suspect that there may be fraudulent activity taking place through the campaign, then PayPal\u2019s and\/or Stripe\u2019s Fraud Team may be notified.
