Is it insight into tackling the problem you\u2019re trying to solve? Success stories? Does your crowd understand what makes you and your solution(s) impactful?<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>WHERE <\/strong><strong>is my crowd?<\/strong><\/td><td>You can find your people in multiple places online: social media and their targeted groups, blogs, forums, and, ideally, your own website and social followers. Also consider in-person avenues: flyers on community boards, to your neighbourhood, at trade shows or conferences, or local establishments willing to help. The <a href=\"https:\/\/connectionpoint.com\/help\/docs\/campaign-qr-code\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaign QR code<\/a> is perfect here!<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>HOW<\/strong><strong> can I engage my crowd?<\/strong><\/td><td>Email, newsletters, forum chats, social media posts, blog comments, etc. Get creative here! These top 100 are the people you&nbsp;<em>know<\/em>&nbsp;will want to support this campaign. Their job is to be there as soon as you hit \u2018Launch\u2019 to get that thermometer OFF OF 0!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not everyone can fill this list with 100 people (I sure couldn\u2019t). The more, the better because not everyone will be interested, but 100 is likely the maximum you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why? You are going to be<em>&nbsp;individually<\/em>&nbsp;messaging all of these people!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>60 days to launch <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay, there are people who are fine to merge into one email (family members, for example). Others should be individually messaged so they understand they are important to you and you choose them to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personalization (\u201chow\u2019s the new puppy doing?\u201d) indicates you aren\u2019t \u2018spraying and praying\u2019 for as many contributions as possible. Even blind carbon copying is easy to detect. Doing either of these things negates the whole purpose of this plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You likely won\u2019t have your campaign with all its details ready by now, and that\u2019s okay. You are just notifying this group that a campaign is coming, what it will be for, when it will be launched, and (this part is so important it gets its own line and bold font):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you are hoping they will do for you and WHY!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Explain to them exactly why their early support is important.&nbsp;<em>Their support in the early hours of the first day helps drive you to success.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>30 days to launch <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yep, you\u2019re doing it again! Your campaign should be complete by now \u2013 at least mostly. If you would like to send the link now for them to subscribe to the campaign, go ahead \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/connectionpoint.com\/help\/docs\/what-does-subscribing-to-a-campaign-mean-how-can-i-do-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">subscribing to the campaign<\/a>\u00a0means they\u2019ll receive a notice from FundRazr telling them when the campaign is launched. But if you\u2019d like to keep it secret, that\u2019s ok too! We\u2019re just sending a friendly reminder with no action plan right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Include whatever you like here \u2013 perhaps give teasers about the rewards you\u2019re offering!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#ff702a\"><strong>Path 2: New crowd<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7637075fed70098275a0c2fdd6e5cc48\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>90 days to launch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that we have our plan for utilizing the crowd we do have, the next step is&nbsp;<strong><em>building on that crowd.<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;To do that, we have to collect some emails!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The general path we want to take is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attract people with ads and posts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Direct them to the landing page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get them to subscribe to the campaign or a newsletter so we collect their emails.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Send emails\/newsletters leading up to the campaign launch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launch the campaign and have them contribute right away!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, if you\u2019d like to make things very easy, you can absolutely use your campaign as a \u201clanding page\u201d to collect emails. An outside platform (such as Mailchimp) works much better \u2013 but if you don\u2019t have the budget for it or if the free versions don\u2019t give you the functionality you want, FundRazr is there if you need it. The campaign doesn\u2019t have to be launched for people to view \u2013 they can see everything, they just cannot contribute yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea here is the same as with our known crowd: we want people to be prepped and ready to contribute to our campaign once it\u2019s live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0ae6825c60e2335eab706689b90d3db4\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>60 days to launch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plan to have your ads, campaign, and\/or landing pages complete (or close to it) around two months pre-launch. This way, you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a link ready for any random person interested in your project (the teller at my bank asked for mine once!);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Play around with what works and what doesn\u2019t (for example, does adding picture 1 or picture 2 attract more emails?);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have plenty of time to fix anything you may have missed, try new crowds if some just aren\u2019t working, plan newsletters, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-182d70562fdeed88ae5e4bcf7cf94509\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>30 days to launch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time for newsletters! While this can be a simple text email, you\u2019re creators! Get creative! Professionalism can do wonders, plus the more visually engaging your newsletters are, the more likely your new followers are to read them. Many email platforms have free versions with lots of template options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newsletters should always have a call to action \u2013 before your campaign launches, this can be to simply view a social media post (and \u2018like\u2019 and save it to boost visibility), or to follow you on your social media so they can become more familiar with you. Familiarity = confidence in your campaign. Or anything else of value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#ff702a\"><strong>Converged Path: Final countdown<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>14 days to launch<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<\/p>\n<li>social media posts and responses<\/li>\n<p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n<li>sending emails<\/li>\n<p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n<li>reaching out to influencers and local media to help share<\/li>\n<p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n<li>paid ad management<\/li>\n<p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n<li>answering questions\/comments on the campaign<\/li>\n<p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n<li>reward fulfillment (if applicable)<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nIf this is a one-person team, that&#8217;s okay! However, consider asking some colleagues\/friends\/family for help, because not only can they help reduce stress (mental health is important!), but they come with their own crowds!<\/p>\n<p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>One day to launch<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\n\n\n\nYou&#8217;re almost there! You now should have a strong email list of people highly likely to contribute to your campaign. <strong>Email them and remind them the campaign launches the next day, and also remind them why it&#8217;s important for them to contribute ASAP. <\/strong>Be open and honest here &#8211; you are more likely to succeed if this crowd contributes as soon as possible on day one.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n\n\nYou can even see this in our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/connectionpoint.com\/fundraiserhub\/6-campaign-success-indicators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Campaign Success Toolkit<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; campaigns that receive their first donation on day 1 are 6% more likely to succeed. It&#8217;s also widely agreed that campaigns are most likely to succeed if they receive at least 30% of the goal within the first week. Make sure your entire crowd understands that!<\/p>\n<p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#004761;font-size:18px\"><strong>LAUNCH DAY!<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\n\n\n\nWoohoo, we&#8217;re here!!! Time to roll up your sleeves and dive into email reminders, thanking your donors by commenting right on their contributions in your campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/connectionpoint.com\/help\/docs\/comments-and-the-campaign-activity-feed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Activity Feed<\/a>,  answering questions, and ensuring all promotional avenues from your marketing plan are live and working.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n\n\nAnd one huge point to remember &#8211; <strong>ask your supporters to help you further by SHARING! <\/strong>Someone may have only a small amount to donate to your campaign or nothing at all, but they could inspire much, much more through their own communities.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n\n\nIf they&#8217;re wondering how to share, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/connectionpoint.com\/help\/docs\/how-are-campaigns-shared\/#2-toc-title\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">direct them to your campaign&#8217;s Share Bar!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#139dbb\"><strong>Campaign Promotion Step 3 &#8211; The mid-campaign slump<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p>\n\n\n\nCampaign promotion continues long after you\u2019ve launched your campaign. It&#8217;s common for campaigns to go through a bit of a &#8216;slump&#8217; after their first week, where little to no contributions are made per day. Combatting this slump involves keeping that ball rolling; don&#8217;t let it slow! Maintain your momentum through <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/connectionpoint.com\/help\/docs\/what-are-project-updates-where-can-i-view-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaign updates<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n\n\n\nUpdates provide additional content for you and your supporters to utilize while continually building a foundation of trust and transparency in your organization. What type of content you provide will depend on your campaign, but <strong>there is one thing that an update is not:<\/strong> an additional ask for more donations.&nbsp; Updates should be a <strong>continuation<\/strong> of the initial story, ideally showing the impact of what funds were already donated.
